Learn To Loom Knit A Tie

Learn to Loom Knit a tie in this easy to follow loom knitting tutorial made by smitten knittins. I found this video just in time for anyone looking for something to give to their special someone.

The quality of the video is very good and is made so that anyone with any loom knitting experience can follow along and knit a tie that anyone would appreciate having. The verbal instructions are well spoken and compliment the crisp close-ups of the knitting being done well. The big bonus of on-screen instructions are my favorite to see in a loom knitting video.

What you will learn from this tutorial are:

  • How to do a Non-Loopy Cast On, Knit (u knit)
  • The Purl stitch
  • How to decrease
  • How to Bind off and cast on
  • How to weave in the ends to complete your tie

The loom knitting tools and supplies you will need are:

Your choice of either a 3/8” Small Gauge (13 pegs), or
 1/2” or 7/16” Regular Gauge (11 pegs)

Approximately 1 skein of yarn ; 142-217 yards
3/8” (Small Gauge) Weight 3 (Light Worsted, DK) You can choose a different yarn but this works best for the Garter stitch

For the Seed Stitch, /8”, 1/2\” or 7/16” (Small or Regular Gauge) Weight 4 (Medium, Worsted, Aran) You will need at least 1 skein.

Don\’t worry about not being able knit the desired size or length of tie because you will be shown how to knit a tie sizes small  2.5” x 52” to extra large 2.5” x 62”.

I think you get the picture or should I say video, this is a well rounded loom knitting tutorial that will have you knitting like a pro in no time at all.
