Loom Knit A One Hour Seersucker Pattern Beanie

Loom Knit A One Hour Seersucker Pattern Beanie

You can loom knit this great looking beanie in using a seersucker pattern in an hour or less following the instructions presented in this loom knit video by Lana Park.

This is one of the easiest loom knit patterns for a beanie that I have found. It is simple, fast to knit, and the finished beanie in the seersucker pattern  looks great.

The Materials You Will Need

  • knitting loom with 41 pegs – This pattern is designed for a odd number of pegs.
  • hook
  • yarn needle
  • measuring tape
  • pom pom maker (diam. 8 cm) Not required you can make your own.
  • scissors
  • 80 gr. yarn (brim and pom pom)
  • 120 gr. yarn (hat)

If you have knitted other projects, you will probably already have most of these knitting supplies if not you can find all of the supplies on Amazon or at your local Walmart or craft store.

The Printed Loom Knitting Steps (Instructions)

I am going to give the quick view of the steps to knit the beanie. You can also follow along with the on-screen printed instructions pausing the video as you work to complete each step.

Loom Knit The Beanie (hat) Brim

Start with a slipknot at anchor peg.

Cast on all the pegs.

Knit the brim by alternating 1 E-wrap with 1 Purl to the size or width of the brim you desire. Peg 41 should always be an E-wrap stitch. The suggested brim length is 8cm or about 3 inches.

To begin the upper portion of the beanie cut the brim yarn and tie in your favorite color yarn.

Loom Knit The Upper Beanie (hat)

To loom knit the first two rows of the upper beanie do 2 e-wraps, 1purl, 1e-wrap through peg making peg 41 an e-wrap.

For the next two rows (rows 3 and 4) do 1 e-warp 1 purl until peg 40 and as always end on peg 41 with an e-wrap.

Rows 5 and 6 will be 1 purl and 3 e-wraps until peg 40 ending with peg 41 being an purl this time.

For Rows 7 and 8 you will do 1 e-wrap and 1 purl until peg 40 going back to an e-wrap on peg 41.

You will do this until you have about 13 inches of upper beanie or if you use centimeters 32cm.

The close the top of the hat.

If your prefer you can add a pom pom to the top of the hat.

The Seersucker Pattern

Here is the less wordy version of the seersucker pattern instruction.

  • Rows 1 and 2 – Repeat K2, P1, K1 peg 41 K
  • Rows 3 and 4 repeat K1, P1 peg 41 K
  • Rows 5 and 6 repeat P1, K3 peg 41 P
  • Rows 7 and 8 repeat K1, P1 peg 41 K

As you can see this is a really easy pattern that is fast to loom knit.
